Gothenburg – leading the way in electro mobility

The Gothenburg region is one of the world’s most knowledge-intensive regions per capita, especially when it comes to automotive development and future electromobility solutions.
With a focus on innovation, sustainability and collaboration, Gothenburg has established itself as one of Europe's most dynamic electromobility clusters. The region's automotive cluster is world leading in safety, electrification, autonomous technology and connected vehicles.

Gothenburg holds the entire value chain in electromobility and is home to innovative companies, academic and research institutions, unique test environments and demonstration projects, making it an ideal place to showcase the latest products and developments in electro mobility.

Progressive brands including Volvo Cars, the Volvo Group, Polestar, Einride, Heart Aerospace, Stena Line, CEVT and NovoEnergy are headquartered or carrying out research and development here. In addition, Gothenburg and western Sweden have a fast-growing battery ecosystem, which in the coming years will feature, among other things, two battery gigafactories.

Gothenburg strongly focuses on reducing emissions as well as adopting and promoting clean transport solutions. 99% of public transport in the county runs on renewable energy and the city’s transport system will be entirely fossil free by 2030. The city has been selected as one of EUs 100 climate-neutral cities in 2030 and named the world’s most sustainable destination seven times.

Gothenburg's emphasis on environmental initiatives, such as Gothenburg Green City Zone and sustainable urban planning, provides the perfect backdrop for displaying solutions for urban mobility, safety, and sustainable materials.

Welcome to Gothenburg - the Nordic capital of getting things done!
